After graduating in furniture design at Nottingham Trent University in 1990 Simon co-founded design partnership         Unit Nine, designing and manufacturing products for leading international retailers. 

In 2000 joined contract furniture manufacturer Ryan as designer developing the company's successful range of products,

becoming Product Design Manager when Ryan became part of the New Design Group in 2015, before setting up his own consultancy Simon Cahill Design, offering product design and development services.

 

A considered, hands-on approach to design unites an intuitive awareness of form, materials and construction with an invaluable understanding of manufacturing, to create pragmatic, refined solutions that aim to appear inevitable.
